Acer Iconia W700 and Iconia W510: First Acer Windows 8 tablet

Many of the popular brands have presented windows 8 running tablets in Computex 2012. If we talk about Acer, it has represented few of its gadgets. In addition to its new ultrabook, Aspire S7, Acer has introduced a couple of devices based on OS Windows 8 – Tablet Iconia W700 and Iconia W510. The first is positioned as a desktop replacement, if we use a special docking station and traditional peripherals like keyboards and mouse.

These new windows 8 running gadgets are equipped with 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, port, USB 3.0, slot microSD, micro HDMI output, and, suddenly, the port of Thunderbolt. When connected to a docking station, the number of USB 3.0 ports is increased to three.

Doc is able to provide the slope of the plate at 20 or 70 degrees. Among, the other features of these tablets, it include 5 – megapixel camera on the rear panel and high-quality speakers with support for Dolby Home Theatre. Acer promises that the battery life Iconia W700 can work up to 8 hours.

Acer Iconia W700 and Iconia W510A more compact 10.1-inch display Iconia W510 is equipped with IPS-based matrix, although its resolution is not advertised. The manufacturer, in principle, did not seek to disclose the technical details of new products, but the samples are made available to journalists at Computex 2012, and learned something. For this model, Acer will also provide a dock, but in this case, keyboard and optional battery pack, increasing the battery life of the tablet to 18 hours. The idea clearly borrowed from the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer.

Moreover, there we can see the development of Acer and its new unique feature. For example, the retaining plate can swivel up to 295 degrees to turn on and turn into a sort of docking cradle. The tablet contains slots for the SIM-card and microSD, micro-USB port, and HDMI, plus a full-size located in the dock port USB 2.0. It also has built-in camera resolution higher than that of older models i.e. 8 megapixels. It was all about Acer Iconia W700 and W510 windows running tablets that are presented in Computex 2012.

Release date and price Iconia W700 and Iconia W510 has not yet publicized.
